Off-peak import
Electricity drawn from the grid in off-peak hours
Pakistan · IESCO
Check your IESCO green meter bill before it arrives. Enter registers #8, #6 and #5 from your meter and the matching units from your last bill. It works for Islamabad Electric Supply Company customers in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock, on either the old net metering terms or NEPRA's 2026 net billing.

Step by step
Your IESCO bill prints a reading for each register. Those are the “units on your last bill” for off-peak import, peak import and export.
Press the scroll button on the green meter until #8, #6 and #5 appear in the corner of the display. Note each running total.
Net metering if your agreement was valid on 9 February 2026, net billing if you connected after that. Enter your rates for a rupee figure.
The calculator gives the energy charge. Your final IESCO bill adds fixed charges, taxes and any fuel adjustment on top.
The 2026 change
IESCO customers who held a valid net metering agreement on 9 February 2026 stay on the old terms until that agreement expires. Exported units cancel imported units one for one.
In the calculator: choose “Net metering” and enter your retail rate as the unit price.
New IESCO solar connections fall under NEPRA's Prosumer Regulations 2026. You buy at the retail tariff and sell exports at a separate, lower buyback rate.
In the calculator: choose “Net billing” and enter your off-peak, peak and buyback rates.
The buyback rate is set by NEPRA determination and has changed more than once, so we do not print a figure that might be out of date. Confirm yours with IESCO in writing.
Coverage
Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) serves Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal. The register numbers and the calculation are the same everywhere in Pakistan.
Questions
For each register, subtract the reading on your last IESCO bill from today's meter reading. Add off-peak (#8) and peak (#6) imports together and subtract them from your export (#5). Under net metering, add any surplus carried forward. A positive answer is credit; a negative one is what you will be billed for.
Not for new applicants. Since NEPRA notified the Prosumer Regulations 2026 on 9 February 2026, new IESCO solar connections are on net billing. Customers with a net metering agreement that was valid on that date keep the old terms until it expires.
Under net billing, exports are bought at a rate set by NEPRA, well below the retail tariff. It has moved more than once, so check the current figure with IESCO or NEPRA and enter it in the calculator's net billing mode.
Register #8 is off-peak import, #6 is peak import and #5 is off-peak export. Each is a running total since the meter was installed, which is why you subtract the figure from your last bill.
The calculator covers the energy side: units and their price. Your bill also carries fixed charges, meter rent, taxes and fuel price adjustments, which vary month to month.
